Policies & Procedures

Class Arrival/Departure
Classes are 90 minutes, once a week in my home in Folsom. As a courtesy to the neighbors, please park in the driveway if possible. Drop your child off and they may come straight in through the front door. If you are early, I may not have the classroom ready yet, and the sign on the door will tell you to wait to come in. First-time parents may come in for the first class for a brief introduction and tourFor the best learning environment, parents may not attend or watch class. When class ends, children will be dismissed outside and may wait on the patio for pick up.

Billing
Tuition invoices are emailed via Paypal, including a description of payment options. Tuition for a month of class including materials is $120/student or prorated at $30/class and is due the week before the next month's classes begin. Homeschool students are charged the same rate but for a 3 month Semester for $360.
Homeschoolers: If your Homeschool is not issuing vouchers for in-person services, please pay out of pocket. I charge per Semester to minimize the number of vouchers you have to order.
Out of Pocket: Options for online payment include Credit Card without a Paypal account, directly through Paypal or Venmo. You may also pay with cash or check payable to "Elisse Tweet" by dropping off or snail mailing to my address above.
Scheduled Absences: With advance notice, pro-rating is available for $30 per class, so please notify me of any vacations etc. BEFORE YOU PAY for the upcoming month's class tuition.

Absences, Vacations & Makeups
If you know you will have a scheduled absence during the Semester, please let me know BEFORE paying and I will adjust your rate.  If you are going to miss a class due to illness,  I still appreciate notification. Makeup week is available for a maximum of ONE makeup class per student during the three months Semester classes. NO CLASS CREDITS OR REFUNDS so please check your schedule for vacations, field trips, etc so I can prorate you in advance of class.

House/Studio Rules
Since the art studio is also my home, students & families will be limited to the front art studio and bathroom area locations of the house. You may send a water bottle, however children usually ignore these or they get in the way and forget them in the studio. My family will be out of the house at work and school during class.

Children’s Clothing
Dress for mess! Due to pastels’ high pigment and dusty nature, your child’s hands and clothes will get messy. Don’t wear anything fancy, though stains should wash off. You are welcome to send them in an apron, though little artists often feel it gets in the way.

Materials
Your tuition covers the high quality Rembrandt brand pastels and other materials used in class. Note that if your child graduates to watercolor you will be required to purchase those materials yourself so they have their own set to keep. The Watercolor materials list is found on the bottom of my FAQ page.
